Tutorial 9, Case Problem 3
Travel Scotland!
Travel Scotland! is an online Web site that books tours of Scotland and the British Isles. You've recently been hired by Travel Scotland! to update their Web site. Fiona Findlay, the head of advertising for the company, has given you a set of pages in a framed Web site that describe four of the company's tours. She would like you to update the code so that it complies with XHTML standards for the transitional and frameset DTDs. A preview of the completed Web site is shown below (and in the Text, Figure 9-29, page 518).

To revise the tours pages:
- Make a new folder on your Student Web Site to contain all the files for this assignment. Name the folder Tutorial9Case3.
- Use your text editor to open the files casttxt.htm, hebdtxt.htm, hightxt.htm, Iaketxt.htm, and scottxt.htm from the tutorial.09/case3. Edit the comment section of each file to be comments we have used all semester. Save the files as casttour.htm, hebdtour.htm, hightour.htm, Iaketour.htm, and scotland.htm respectively.
- Go to the scotland.htm file in your text editor and insert your standard xml declaration at the top of the file. It looks like this:
<?xml version-"1.0" encoding=UTF-8" standalone="no" ?>
- Below the xml declaration, insert a DOCTYPE declaration that indicates that this file conforms to the standards for XHTML 1.0 transitional (this is the same one you've used all semester).
- Set the default namespace to the XHTML namespace, looks like this:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.rg/1999/xhtml">
- Save your changes and submit the page to W3C Markup Validation Service. Correct any errors reported by the validator. (HINT: If alternate text is required for the image map hotspots, use the text displayed in the tourlist.gif graphic.)
- Go to the casttour.htm file in your text editor repeat steps 3, 4, 5.
- Save your changes and submit the page for validation. Correct any errors in syntax or validity.
- Repeat these steps for the hebdtour.htm, hightour.htm, and Iaketour.htm files.
- Test the Web site in your browser to verify that the inline frames and the framed pages work correctly.
When you are finished:
- Use FTP to upload your completed web page to your Tulane Student Web Space.
- Copy the URL of your website's main page and paste it into a new eMail message to George (gnorth@tulane.edu). Subject of this eMail MUST be "Tutorial 9 - Case Problem 3"

Where would I stand to take such a picture?
